Learn to Sail at YMCA Sailing Club

The YMCA Sailing Club of Canberra is a Yachting Australia (YAI) Recognised Training Establishment (RTE). Over the years the Club's training courses have introduced hundreds of people to the sport, and a good number of graduates have learnt to sail competitively and win State and National Championships. Whatever your interest is in sailing, a YMCASC course is a good way to get started.

No prior sailing experience is required and the only restrictions are that trainees must be older than 10 years and must be able to swim at least 50m.

Summer School Holiday Program: Introduction to Sailing Course ($280)
This course provides a safe and enjoyable introduction to small boat sailing for youth . An introduction to fundamental boat handling skills, and essential knowledge that allows participants the freedom of sailing small boats with guidance from an Instructor. YMCA Sailing Club instructors are qualified through Yachting Australia. For more information please click here for PDF.

Adult Learn to Sail Course ($315 -includes one year's membership of YMCASC)
This course provides a safe and enjoyable introduction to small boat sailing for novices. Students will be taught skills and knowledge to enable the participant to safely and competently sail a small boat without guidance in light winds on enclosed waters. This course is held over four Saturday mornings from 8.30am - 12.30pm. The instructors are all qualified by Yachting Australia. For more information please click here for PDF.
